The LNPT officers asked me to make up a ‘wish list’ for my BIS.  I don’t know that I really want/need any of it, but I figure I could post it anyway.  : /  Looks like I’m being a little greedy though.. If I get it, wonderful; If I don’t get it, I’ll survive without.

Oh btw, did I mention that I got into Late Night Pain Train?  I’m on trial status at the moment, but I’m excited ^_^

Stats and You

Stats for your priest really aren’t that difficult to figure out.  In fact, you should already have a pretty good idea of the basics.  More spirit and MP5 generally mean more mana regen.  More spellpower means a bigger bang to your heal.  What you might be having an issue with is prioritizing these things and where to start.  The problem is that you can’t start with just one stat, they are all linked.  So just one doesn’t necessarily give you the benefit you are looking for.  For example: As a holy priest, you can gem and enchant yourself up for spirit.  However if you lack the spellpower and crit, you aren’t getting everything out of it that you possibly could. Sure, you have some decent mana regen, however, your spells aren’t healing as much as they could and if you don’t crit, you aren’t getting your free flash heal.

Moderation!

You aslo have to realize that Blizzard made some changes to regen in WotLK.  Yes, this is old news, however it needs to be said that spirit is no longer the main factor in mana regen and gemming for mp5 isn’t going to give you enough.  You need to balance your spirit with intellect.  Not 50/50 mind you, but more like 60/40 (in favor of spirit) for a holy priest, and 70/30 (in favor of intellect) for a disc priest.  There is a little more about this here, but the math is ludicrous and unnecessary.  Just realize that spirit is more important to Holy priest.  And intellect is a Disc priests favored stat.

The list below is highly generalized and I can’t say that it is the be all, end all.  Every priest has their own healing style, so you need to find what you are comfortable with.  However, here is my priority list for stats.

Discipline Priests

  1. Intellect (less spirit)
  2. Spellpower
  3. Haste and Crit

Holy Priests

  1. Spirit (less intellect)
  2. Spell Power
  3. Critical Strike

So.. What does my UI look like and what am I using at the moment.

Well, after some searching and complaining about memory usage from most of the addons I’ve been playing with, I found yet another that I’ve now been using for about 4 months now.  TukUI is fanstastic and has such a huge following that it’s really easy to get support from the community.
