Holier Than Thou is my personal attempt at making notes and comments about playing a Holy Priest so that I might better myself as a player.  Not just for my own edification, but for the good of my guild’s raid crew.  I chose to call it “Holier Than Thou”  as a jab at myself and not because I feel that I am better than others, or know more.

This is just a random list of things I have found useful to know about other classes.  I don’t know everything, but it helps to know some of these things from time to time.

  • All tank taunts can be resisted
  • Bears only have two ranged taunts
  • Hunter’s Feign Death can be resisted
  • Paladin bubbles do not solve all ills
  • Nearly all dps classes have an agro drop/dump.  Mages, Warlocks, Hunters, Kitty Droods, Rogues
DKs, Paladins and  Shamen do not.
    - PS: Reincarnate and your pathetic 2k threat drop does not count.
  • All healer classes have a different style of healing, and even within those classes are multiple different ways to heal.
Paladins don’t have Heal Over Time (HOT) spells
  • Most buffs that offer a boost to the same attribute do not stack.  Totems and Pally Auras included.
  • Jesus Chain‘ can be spammed, but it is not really a good idea to do so.
  • Retribution Paladins are made of paper.
    So are Mages.
    So are Warlocks.
    So are Rogues…
  • Mana Tide is lovely in a long boss fight, but needs to be timed right (especially when you have 2 or more shaman trying to drop it).
  • Healing a Warlock’s demon is beneficial.  They usually add a buff that the Warlock needs.
  • You can heal a Mage while they are Ice Blocked
  • Warlock, Hunter and DK pets while in a raid dungeon can and will pull random groups of mobs without permission if they are not Passive.
  • Warrior and Paladin tanks don’t like PW:Shield often.  Warriors gain rage from being hit and Paladins regain their mana when they are healed.

I’ll add more to the list.  I just can’t think of them all right now.
