The Odd Build — !!??Body and Soul??!!

emember this build? I mentioned it in my last post. There’s a lot of ‘fun’ talents that I took, but there’s a good reason for it. It’s a conditional spec. The condition is that I’m in the Plague Wing of ICC.
The whole reason I am a holy priest is to support my raid in anyway possible. That being said, I’ll explain my talent choices.
Let’s start with Soul Warding instead of Divine Fury– I rarely use Greater Heal when I’m not tank healing. I won’t say ‘never’ because I have been known to use it on a random basis. However, I don’t use it often enough in most situations to make having those 5 talent points worth it. So they can be placed elsewhere. And because a lot of the damage I’ll be taking won’t be physical, it would then have to be some kind of spell damage. Anything I can do to negate damage I take is preferable in new encounters, and even old ones. The less I have to heal myself, the more I can heal others. Besides, this build focuses more on single target healing than group healing.
Body and Soul is a really fun spell. I took it in place of Serendipity, which only comes in handy if I’m group healing or using Greater Heal. And as I said previously, this is a single target, fast paced healing build and I don’t use Greater Heal very often.
Now, I will tell you when and why I use this build.
The Rotface encounter requires that our raid do a lot of running to specific points as fast as possible. Body and Soul gives an extra speed boost to get there just a bit faster so the healing debuff from the small oozes that spawn once another debuff is removed. The faster the player gets the ooze to the point it needs to be at, the less damage and debuff the player takes.
The Putricide encounter is when the Gas Clouds appear. They are generally orange slimes that chase players, but they move so fast that it’s only a matter of time before the slime reaches it’s target and causes raid wide damage should the dps not get it down. Body and Soul, again, gives an extra speed boost giving players a bit more time to dps the Gas Clouds.
i tried to optimize for fast flash heals and occasional CoH’s and hots. It kills my ranks on the healing meters, but since when did meters ever matter to a healer? The point is keeping your charges and yourself alive.
Next post I’ll go over my UI and addons. I haven’t done anything but tweek it in weeks! :D
